Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes – February 17, 2026

Time; 10:05 am at the Lutheran Church

Present;      20 members

Meeting chaired by: Denise Lynch was out of town and Marian took over the meeting.

Synopsis of meeting

  1. Welcome and introduction. No guests or new members.
  2. Update from splinter groups about meeting plans (outlined formally in the splinter group section following) by Barbara G.
  3. Reminders for receipts and dues-everyone is paid up but for a couple out of towners.
  4. Kathy updated us on the fire department quilts-we have 12 volunteers, need 10 more but several people indicated they are doing a second quilt. It was reiterated that this is a gift from the community in thank you for the amazing work these people do in our community. The deadline for quilts is June1, 2026.
  5. Two field trips are planned; one to Monroe for the Quilters anonymous show March 14. Denise has procured a van and has a list going of those who want to go-make sure you contact her if you are interested. The second field trip is planned to attend the Quilt and Fiber arts show in LaConnor in September with those plans to come soon.
  6. We are still hoping someone will coordinate a show in the library of small hangable quilts or quilt art. We are hoping this will increase our visibility to the larger community so folks can find us and join in !
  7. The fabulous mini auction was hosted by Georgia (thank you) and brought in excess of a whopping $700.00 to the quilt guild. AMAZING items were garnered by many if not all!!! A big thank you to Anne and others who contributed.
  8. Chris is asking for those who have worked on the community quilt to email her to let her know-if you still have the piece you are working on, or if you have already turned it in-this way she can check it off the list or keep pestering you. So many amazing pieces already it looks to be a fun quilt to provide food access for VIGA/Vashon residents.
  9. Show and Tell followed with several people showing their work: Margaret, JoAnne, Su D., Berry, Mary C., and Tish all showed quilts they had completed.

The meeting adjourned at 11:50 followed by sew day in the same place.
